The
2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a great SUV. The Mitsubishi RVR stands on par as another exceptional SUV. Although the same manufacturer produces these SUVs, they have differences. Depending on your lifestyle, budget, and personal preferences, you may favour one above the other. However, you may still be unsure of which one you should purchase.
Each SUV has its unique positive aspects. If you're unsure which one of these
Mitsubishi SUVs to purchase, you've come to the right place. Here at
Steele Mitsubishi, we've completed a full comparison review of both vehicles to help you decide. Read further and see which one's best for you!
The Eclipse Cross is available in three trims: ES S-AWD, SE S-AWD, and SEL S-AWD. Pricing ranges from $28,598 to $34,218. The 2022 Mitsubishi RVR can be bought in three trims as well: ES FWD, SE FWD, and ES AWD. Pricing ranges from $23,828 to $26,328. If you're shopping on a budget, the RVR may be a better option.
The Eclipse Cross is 4.547m in length, has a front width of 1.689m, and back width of 1.806m. The RVR is 4.365m in length and has a 1.645m front width and a back width of 1.810m. Both SUVs have a back width that doesn't differ much. However, the RVR may be easier to manoeuvre as it has a front width that's 44cm smaller than the Eclipse Cross. You'll also have an easier time fitting into parking spaces as the RVR is 0.182m shorter in length.
The RVR can be bought with a sunroof which creates more headroom in the back and the front. With the sunroof installed, the RVR provides similar headroom in the front as the Eclipse Cross, and the headroom in the back becomes more by 0.016m compared to the Eclipse Cross.
The
Mitsubishi RVR also provides 0.025m more legroom in the back, 0.018m more front legroom, and 0.010m more shoulder room in the back. If you're tall, you may appreciate the additional space for your legs in the RVR. Your passengers will also thank you for the additional room in the back when travelling on those long road trips.
Fuel Consumption
In the city, both vehicles have about the same fuel efficiency. The Eclipse Cross will give you approximately 9.6km/L. The RVRs efficiency is very close at approximately 9.7km/L. If you intend to take long road trips travelling on the highway, the Cross may be better. The Eclipse Cross will take you 8.9km/L as opposed to the RVR, which will only take you 7.8km/L.
